Aviva Ireland is shining a spotlight on grassroots sports clubs across the country, community hubs with rich histories and deep local roots that keep rugby and football thriving. These clubs aren’t just about sport; they’re about belonging. They provide safe spaces for young people, foster inclusivity, and strengthen community ties.
Aviva Ireland reached out to clubs across Ireland to share their stories, their triumphs, challenges, and the people that make them so special. These stories celebrate the volunteers, coaches, and players who dedicate countless hours to coaching, fundraising, and mentoring. The company selected ten clubs to visit, learning their stories and filming all to give the public the chance to hear about them too.
Grassroots clubs face real challenges, funding, facilities, and volunteer support. By highlighting their stories, Aviva Ireland aims to celebrate their impact and encourage communities to rally behind them. Supporting grassroots isn’t just about sport; it’s about building stronger, healthier communities.
In the first phase, three clubs from Galway are featured: Galwegians RFC, Corinthians RFC and Salthill Devon FC.
