Cregmore Claregalway FC is excited to announce its first-ever 6-aside football tournament, set to take place on Saturday, June 28th.
The event, which has already generated significant interest through the club’s social media channels, will be held at the Cregmore grounds from 10 a.m. to approximately 5 p.m.
The tournament is open to U12 boys, U11 and U12 girls, and adult men (over 16s), with plans to expand the age categories in future years as the event grows.
The club hopes this will become a staple annual competition for the local football community.
Throughout the day, attendees can enjoy a vibrant festival atmosphere, including a variety of food trucks, a coffee van, and a tuck shop, ensuring there’s something for everyone.
The club’s annual awards ceremony for all teams and age groups will also be held, making it a true celebration of the season’s achievements.
A special highlight of the day will be elite coaching sessions provided by Top Tekkers Football Academy.
Budding footballers will have the opportunity to train under the guidance of Top Tekkers head coach and Galway United captain Conor McCormack, local Galway United hero Stephen Walsh, and other experienced coaches.
These sessions, starting at midday, offer young players a unique chance to learn from their sporting idols and develop their skills.
Cregmore Claregalway FC is currently undertaking a major fundraising drive to support the purchase and development of new club facilities, with the ambition of hosting future tournaments on a full-size Astro pitch.
The club’s committee, comprised entirely of volunteer coaches, is grateful for the ongoing support from the Cregmore and Claregalway communities and encourages all members to support local businesses that back the club.
