A very special event that will raise money and awareness for the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association will take place in Cregmore Golf Club from the 4th to the 6th of September.
The event will be played in a Champagne Scramble Format and has already seen incredible interest, with Saturday already sold out and limited spots on Friday and Sunday.
Motor Neurone Disease (MND) is a progressive neurological condition that attacks the motor neurones, or nerves, in the brain and spinal cord. This means messages gradually stop reaching the muscles, which leads to weakness and wasting.
MND can affect how you walk, talk, eat, drink and breathe. However, not all symptoms necessarily happen to everyone, and it is unlikely they will all develop at the same time, or in any specific order.
The cause of MND is not known, and sadly can strike people of all ages. There is also no cure. However, symptoms can be managed to help the person achieve the best possible quality of life.
Sean Brennan is the organiser of the event and he spoke to George McDonagh on Over The Line.
If you would like to enter a team, or maybe sponsor a tee box or make a donation, the details on how to do so are below.
