Three second half goals helped the Galway hurlers survive a scare in Newbridge on Saturday afternoon, coming from ten points down at half time to run out winners by three goals in the third round of the Leinster Senior Hurling Championship.
Micheal Donoghue's side recorded comfortable wins over Kilkenny and Offaly so far, but found themselves 1-7 to 0-1 down after 13 minutes with Muiris Curtin hitting the net for the Lilywhites. Rory burked goaled at the end of the half to leave the Tribesmen 1-15 to 1-5 down at the break.
The second half was a different story, Tom Monaghan, Cian Daniels and Conor Whelan all raised green flags for the away side to complete the comeback and ensure they go three wins from three in the Leinster Senior Hurling Championship.
