There was a sixfold increase in entries in the Long Jump competition and despite the rain Sunday morning, it was a very hotly contested competition.

On Sunday afternoon, the County Finals of the Solo and Group Talent. took place in The Family Centre, Athenry Road, Tuam.
This was an evening of super talent, with competitors taking part in Song, Dance and Music. Thanks to The Family Centre for allowing Galway Community Games the use of their hall.

The winners will represent Galway at the National Finals in September

Team Finals
The County Community Games team finals in Gaelic Games and Soccer will take place this weekend starting on Friday with the U11 Hurling and U14 Camogie Finals in Woodford. Woodford/Tynagh face Kinvara in both with the hurling at 6.15pm and the Camogie at 7.30.
On Saturday, there are three Gaelic Football Finals in Kinvara all featuring Moycullen and Caherlistrane/Kilcoonagh. The U10 Mixed final will be played at 10am, the Girls U12 at 11 and the Girls U14 at 12 noon.
Finally, the Community Games Soccer Finals will take place at Athenry’s home ground of Montbaun on Sunday. At 12 Noon, Clarinbridge and Portumna meet in the Boys U12 Final, the Girls U12 Final between Oranmore-Maree and Ballinderreen will kick off at 12.30 and at 1pm, the Girls U15 Final sees Mullagh take on Clarinbridge.
The winners of all the weekend’s finals will go on to represent Galway in Connacht.
