Galway GAA Senior Football Championship Semi-Finals, Reports & Reaction

The Bon Secours Hospital Senior Football Championship Semi-Finals took place under lights at Pearse Stadium on Saturday night. In the opening game, Maigh Cuilinn secured their place in the final. They overcame Tuam Stars by a single point after a titanic battle. Despite Tuam leading by a goal at the break, the second half was a topsy-turvy affair, with Maigh Cuilinn coming out on top by the narrowest of margins.

In the second semi-final, Salthill Knocknacarra had too much for Corofin. Incredibly, the winners racked up a 1-14 to 0-4 lead by halftime, and Corofin looked down and out. But Corofin rallied in the second half, hitting 1-4 in the space of six minutes to close the gap to five. With four minutes to play, Corofin trailed by a single point, but the Seasiders held their nerve to reach the final on a scoreline of 1-17 to 1-15.
