A Galway man is to set off on an adventure next week that will see him climb Mount Kilimanjaro.
Eanna Shalvey is currently Head Strength & Conditioning Coach with the Offaly Senior Footballers and he will climb the iconic mountain that is the highest mountain in Africa and the highest free-standing mountain above sea level in the world, at 5,895 m (19,341 ft) above sea level and 4,900 m (16,100 ft) above its plateau base.
Eanna begins his adventure on the 11th of September and is raising funds for Cuan Mhuire Coolarne, a Galway-based centre helping people in recovery from addiction.
This is the charity’s main fundraiser for 2025, with all proceeds going toward maintaining vital services for the local community.
Eanna joined George McDonagh in the studio on Over The Line on Monday Night.
