Galway's Ciana Ní Churraoin and Niamh Heffernan Chat to Galway Bay FM After Historic Third All-Ireland Senior Doubles Title

Galway duo Ciana Ní Churraoin and Niamh Heffernan made history in Croke Park on Saturday (25th April 2026) when they beat Clare's Caitriona Millane and Leah Minogue to win a third consecutive All-Ireland Senior Doubles 4-Wall Handball title.

The pair from Micheál Breathnach and Claregalway respectively became Galway's first ever ladies champions in 2024 and have been unbeaten in this discipline since.  They got off to the perfect start winning the first game 21-4, before fending off their Munster opponents by taking the second 21-11.

After their success, Ciana and, first Niamh chatted to Galway Bay FM's Darren Kelly on 'Saturday Sport.'

It wasn't to be for Galway's Freya Donnellan and Ella Sweeney in the Minor Final on Sunday (26th) as they went down 21-6 21-16 to Clare's Claire Minogue and Isabelle McInerney.
