Plenty of Galway Involvement in Irish Life Dublin Half Marathon

Galway’s Maebh Brannigan (Galway City Harriers) delivered a standout performance at the 2025 Irish Life Dublin Half Marathon on Sunday, September 21, finishing runner-up in a personal best of 1:18:57, just 13 seconds behind winner Caitlyn Harvey (Roadrunners AC). The 28-year-old social worker and former 400m/800m track athlete described the result as a huge confidence boost ahead of the Dublin Marathon next month.

“I was just hoping to go as fast as I could and ended up finishing second. I can’t believe it! I’ve knocked a minute off my ‘half’ PB, so it’s given me huge confidence for the marathon,” Brannigan said. “It was a fantastic race and the atmosphere in Phoenix Park is always electric.”

In the men’s race, Clare’s Jake O’Regan (St John’s AC, Kilkee), now living in Galway, won in 1:07:18, with Gavin Curtin (Donore Harriers) second in 1:08:33 and David Glynn (Swords) third in 1:09:47. Dublin’s Fiona Stack took third in the women’s race in 1:21:30.
