Jane Joyce of Gort Golf Club has won the Ulster O18 Junior Open Championship at Belvoir Park this afternoon.
The searing temperatures meant the Senior tournament was reduced to one round on Sunday, and it was Joyce who coped best in the heat.
The Championship was decided after a thrilling play-off when Joyce and Maire Ni Riordain couldn’t be separated following their 18 holes.
Both players picked up 20 stableford points, just ahead of Mary Bergin (Monkstown) back in third.

It then went to the play-off and Joyce had just enough to seal the silverware.
