Kilkerrin-Clonberne's Siobhán Divilly and Athenry's Lisa Casserly Named Club Players of the Year at 2026 Awards

AIB, proud sponsors of the AIB GAA, LGFA, and Camogie All-Ireland Club Championships, tonight celebrated the pinnacle of club excellence, unveiling the recipients of the AIB Club Player of the Year awards for the 2025/26 season.

Tom O Sullivan (Daingean Uí Chúis, Kerry) was named AIB GAA Club Footballer of the Year, Dessie Hutchinson (Ballygunner, Waterford) secured the AIB GAA Club Hurler of the Year, Siobhán Divilly (Kilkerrin-Clonberne, Galway) received the AIB LGFA Club Player of the Year, and Lisa Casserly (Athenry, Galway) was honoured as AIB Camogie Club Player of the Year. The awards ceremony also saw the presentation of the AIB GAA, LGFA, and Camogie Club Teams of the Year, recognising the outstanding collective talent from a thrilling season of club action.

Ballygunner and Waterford forward Dessie Hutchinson is now a two-time AIB GAA Club Hurler of the Year having previously been honoured with the overall award for his exploits and excellence in 2022. This is his fourth time since 2018 to be included in club hurling’s team of the year and is a recognition of his remarkable consistency in the Ballygunner attack. A constant threat and a man who could be relied upon to relieve pressure when Ballygunner needed it most, for club and county, Dessie Hutchinson is regarded as one of the sharpest shooting talents in our game and was a key driver in Ballygunner’s return to the club championship summit.

In a campaign that saw Daingean Uí Chúis push the boundaries of excellence, Tom O’Sullivan was a shining light, and in an age where Kerry footballers at club and county have seized the initiative in football’s new age, O’Sullivan typifies the total footballer that makes the Kingdom such a force. A lynchpin of their defence, his class and composure on the ball were such an asset and those traits were embellished by his ability to raid forward and be a great point scorer and a scorer of great points.

Siobhán Divilly from Kilkerrin-Clonberne has been named AIB LGFA Club Player of the Year, following a phenomenal season in which she played a starring role in her club's fifth successive All-Ireland Ladies Club SFC title. A vastly experienced star for club and county, Siobhán Divilly is a vital cog in the Kilkerrin-Clonberne wheel. An often-underrated player, Siobhán operates around the middle third with minimum fuss, providing a crucial link between defence and attack. Siobhán was Player of the Match in the 2025 AIB All-Ireland Senior Club final.

Lisa Casserly played a starring role for Athenry, as they enjoyed their first Galway Senior Championship victory since 2009. She delivered in defence throughout the campaign, as they overcame Disckboro in the last four, before seeing off St Finbarr's in a thrilling replay. Her leadership, tireless work rate, and ability to influence crucial moments, including her team's resilience in the drawn final, truly set her apart in an unforgettable season.

The ceremony also recognised the collective brilliance of the AIB GAA, LGFA, and Camogie Club Teams of the Year, celebrating the breadth of talent across the country. This year also marked the introduction of the first-ever 'Moments of the Championship' award, which celebrates the unforgettable instances that captured the imagination and spirit of the club game. The inaugural winners of the award were Kilkenny’s Muckalee LGFA, who remarkably triumphed against the odds to win the AIB LGFA Leinster Junior Championship, before going on to win the AIB All-Ireland Junior title.

AIB is a proud sponsor of all four codes of Gaelic Games, encompassing the AIB GAA, LGFA, and Camogie All-Ireland Club Championships. This commitment sees all four codes united under one sponsorship banner, further amplifying the dedication and skill of these incredible athletes. This marks AIB's 35th year supporting the AIB GAA All-Ireland Club Championships, its 13th year of backing the AIB Camogie All-Ireland Club Championships, and its second year sponsoring the All-Ireland Ladies Football Club Championships.

Commenting on the Awards, AIB Chief Customer Officer, Orlaith Ryan said“AIB is incredibly proud to celebrate the exceptional talent showcased across all four codes in this year's AIB Club Championships. Tonight, we honour not just individual brilliance, but the heart, dedication, and passion that Tom, Dessie, Siobhán, and Lisa, along with all the players on the Teams of the Year, bring to their clubs and communities. Congratulations to all our award winners – you are a credit to your sport.”

Congratulating the winners, Uachtarán Cumann Lúthchleas Gael, Jarlath Burns, said: “I want to salute Dessie and Tom for all that they achieved with their clubs and for playing such an instrumental role in making this such a memorable AIB GAA Club Championship campaign. The standards on view in the All-Ireland club championship are incredibly high, and it takes players of real craft and intelligence to influence those big games. Dessie and Tom were exemplary and Ballygunner and Daingean Uí Chúis owe them a lot. I want to again thank AIB for assisting us in celebrating our outstanding Club Players through these awards.”

Uachtarán Cumann Peil Gael na mBan, Trina Murray said: “Siobhán Divilly represents everything that is great about our game. For many years, she has been a leader for Kilkerrin-Clonberne and Galway, setting standards through her work rate, intelligence and quiet determination. Players like Siobhán may not always seek the spotlight, but teammates and supporters know just how vital she is. Her performance in the 2025 AIB All-Ireland Senior Club Final, where she was a deserving Player of the Match, showed the influence she brings to the middle third. On behalf of the LGFA, I congratulate Siobhán on her achievements and thank her for the example she continues to set.”

Uachtarán an Cumann Camógaíochta, Brian Molloy said: " Congratulations to Lisa Casserly on being named the AIB Camogie Club Player of the Year. Lisa delivered outstanding performances throughout the championship and played a central role in Athenry’s remarkable campaign. Her skill, leadership and consistency across the season exemplified the very best of club camogie. As someone who has known Lisa from her days playing Camogie with Ballinderreen, it has been a pleasure to watch her development over the years into one of the outstanding players in the game. A former Ireland underage international in soccer and a previous Intermediate Player of the Year at inter-county level, this award is a fitting recognition of her dedication and her continued excellence on the field. Comhghairdeas le Lisa agus leis na himreoirí uilig ar bronnadh gradaim orthu anocht. I would also like to thank AIB for their continued support of the Camogie Club Championships and for championing the club game across all four codes, which remains the heartbeat of our Associations.”
