Connacht were beaten in the second game of their trip to South Africa by a strong Lions side on Saturday afternoon (April 25th) in Johannesburg.
The hosts dominated the first half, leading 21-0 at the break thanks to tries from Angelo Davids, Henco Van Wyk and Sibabalwe Mahashe all went over.
Eric Cronje inflicted even more damage on Stuart Lancaster's side at the start of the second half, running in a try straight away, which was again converted by Chris Smith. Matthew Devine would run in two tries for Connacht, either side of the Lions 5th try by SJ Kotze. Paul Boyle added a third for Connacht with the clock in the red, to fall to a 33-21 defeat.
Defeat leaves Connacht in 9th place in the table with two games to go in the URC. They are next in action at home to Munster on Saturday (9th May) at 7:45 pm at Dexcom Stadium.
