There was no joy for the Galway Under 16 Ladies Football team in their All-Ireland semi-final last night in Orchard Park, Elphin as a strong Cavan side prevailed by 2-16 to 2-9 to book their plave in the final against Kildare. Galway started well and an early Siún Callanan goal gave them the early initiative, but Cavan hit back to lead by 1-6 to 1-4 at half time. The Ulster champions stretched their lead in the second half, until a late Labhaoise Keane goal set up a grandstand finish.
