Presentation Athenry 3-1 Salerno Salthill (First Year Connacht Cup Final Reaction with Joe Finnerty)

Presentation College Athenry were crowned FAI Schools First Year (under-14) Connacht Girls Cup champions on Thursday (23rd April 2026) folloiwng a 3-1 victory over Salerno Secondary School, Salthill at Mervue United.

Kayla Poinard's first half goal was cancelled out by Salerno's Saoirse Ginty.  But strikes after the restart from Aoibheann Burke and Lily Mae Forde gave Athenry the title.

Áine Hynes, Joe Finnerty and Dom Coll were the team coaches.  Joe Finnerty gave his reaction to the result.

Presentation Athenry will now meet Donegal's Moville Community School in the National semi-final on Tuesday, 5th May.
