Presentation Athenry Into All-Ireland Senior A Hurling Final but Portumna Community School and Clonfert College Ballinasloe End Their Run

Presentation College Athenry qualified for a third Masita All-Ireland Post Primary Schools Senior A Hurling Final on Saturday (7th March 2026) in Kilbeacanty as they beat Clare's St. Flannan's, Ennis 1-18 to 1-14.

Ciarán Leen struck 0-10 while Cian Hannon got their goal to set up a clash with Kilkenny's St. Kieran's on St. Patrick's Day in Croke Park at 1pm, looking to end Galway's 32 year wait for the Dr. Croke Cup.

Afterwards, Presentation Athenry joint manager Mike Finn chatted to Galway Bay FM's Ollie Turner.

Just one week after winning the Connacht championship, Portumna Community School couldn't overcome Kerrys' Tralee CBS in the All-Ireland Senior B semi-final as it finished 1-19 to 0-20 in Tulla.

Iarla Kelly got 0-9 for Portumna with Jody Canning chipping in with 0-6, but they came up just two points short.

Portumna joint manager Kevin Hanney shared his views with Galway Bay FM's PJ Lynch.

Finally, Clonfert College came up the wrong side of a 2-18 to 2-13 scoreline in the All-Ireland Senior C semi-final against St. Joseph's Borrisoleigh in Banagher.

Cillian Ó Tuairisg and Odhran Sheanon got the goals for the Ballinasloe school while Ross Glynn converted 0-6.

Clonfert manager Emmet Mahony spoke to Galway Bay FM's Kevin Egan.

The All-Ireland Senior A Hurling Final between Presentation Athenry and St. Kieran's Kilkenny takes place in Croke Park on St. Patrick's Day at 1pm.
