The sport of HYROX is fast becoming one of the most popular disciplines when it comes to keeping fit.
HYROX itself is a global fitness competition that combines running with functional workouts, designed to be accessible to all fitness levels.
It features eight rounds, each consisting of a 1km run followed by a different functional exercise. These exercises include SkiErg, sled push, sled pull, burpee broad jumps, rowing, farmers carry, sandbag lunges, and wall balls.
HYROX events are mainly held in large indoor venues, creating a stadium-like atmosphere, but can also be held outdoors.
On August 16th and 17th, a special Hyrox Simulation event will take place in the Castlegar Sports Arena beside Revolution Fitness Performance in Roscam, with proceeds from the kids race ‘Youngstars’ and donations on the day going to the Jack and Jill Foundation.
John Mulligan was joined in the studio by Revolution Head Coach Keith McDermott and member Muireann Ryan.
