Salthill Knocknacarra GAA Club, Connacht’s largest GAA club, has today announced a three-year partnership with Davy, Ireland’s leading wealth management provider.
Under the agreement, Davy will provide financial support for the club’s adult ladies football teams. With over 500 female playing members, Salthill Knocknacarra GAA is the biggest female sporting organisation in the west of Ireland, despite the ladies football section only being established in the early 2000s.
The partnership will also see Davy provide gear for coaches across all four codes in the club, which continues to see exceptional membership growth. There are over 2,000 members in the club, 1,000 of which are juvenile, and 2025 has seen record numbers of children being introduced to Gaelic Games through the club’s nursery programme.
Pat Duggan, Director, Davy Private Clients, said: “We’re delighted to be partnering with Salthill Knocknacarra GAA. The club’s values of inclusion, youth development and community engagement are in line with Davy’s own. Their ladies football programme has been hugely successful and we’re excited to support them on their journey over the next three years.
“The club is in a unique position of being the only Galway club to provide opportunities to play all four codes. At Davy, we’re passionate about supporting young Irish athletes, and it’s clear the club feels the same. Its brilliant network of volunteers are doing incredible work in bringing through the next generation of players across all four codes. That’s why it is so important for our partnership to support the coaches who are on the pitches day in, day out.”
Alan Hassett, Chairperson, Salthill Knocknacarra GAA, added: “We’re extremely proud of Salthill Knocknacarra GAA’s role as both a sporting and community hub for the local area, something that would not be possible without the selfless efforts of our volunteers in all areas of the club’s activities.
“The hard work has helped us to see massive membership growth in recent years, and it’s a reflection of the steady progress we’ve made as a club that we’re in a position to partner with a brilliant company like Davy. This partnership is about more than financial support, it’s about working with a company that shares the club’s passion for supporting young athletes and creating strong communities through the power of sport.”
