After being postponed last week following the sad passing of recent assistant manager Ollie Horgan, Galway United return to SSE Airtricity League Men's Premier Division action on Sunday (7th September 2025) when they travel to defending champions Shelbourne.
United are currently in eighth place on 30 points, level with Sligo Rovers, with only goal difference separating the Tribesmen from the relegation play-off spot. They are also without a victory in eight league games.
But they are unbeaten in their last four games against the Dublin-based team, even if the previous three have finished in draws. United's last competitive win away to Shelbourne was in October 2014 when goals from Ryan Connolly and Jake Keegan gave them a 2-1 victory in a promotion play-off.
Former St. Patrick's Athletic and Dundalk manager Jon Daly became Galway United's new assistant manager last mont,h and he looked forward to the game with Galway Bay FM's Darren Kelly.
Kick-off at Tolka Park on Sunday is 5pm, and we'll have full coverage on our website galwaybayfm.ie.
