The first White Collar Boxing fight night since before Covid took place in the fabulous 4 Star Ardilaun Hotel last Saturday night (22nd November 2025).
The full house of vocal & enthusiastic fight fans were treated to no less than 13 action-packed fights and all in aid of the Galway Hospice.
Dubbed “Strike A Blow 7” for Galway Hospice, it certainly was a night to remember.
Promoted by Albert Baranyai (AKA Luci) and overseen & officiated by Black Dragon head coach Pete Foley, ably assisted by Coach Cian McCormack, the show was a resounding success,
The boxers on the programme trained for eight weeks at the Black Dragon Gym and nine of Foleys Kickboxers and four MMA fighters from West Coast MMA Gym in Gort (trained by Cathal Manning), were drafted in to make up the numbers and all competed under Queensbury Rules.
Dr Paddy Meagher from Clybaun Surgery in Knocknacarra was the ringside physician on the night and he was assisted by the Civil Defence.
MC on the night was Alan Mc Nevin and DJ was Mark Molloy.
Judges were: Whitney Sheppard, Oisín Concannon and Jennifer Baranyai.
A huge thanks is extended to everyone who helped out in any way to make the event run as smoothly as it did.
