Two Galway Boxers win National U17 titles at the weekend

The 2025 IABA National U17 Champions have been crowned, and hail from 11 counties: Antrim (3), Armagh (1), Cork (3), Down (2), Donegal (2), Dublin (9), Galway (2), Meath (1), Tipperary (2), Westmeath (3,) Wexford (2). In all, 130 boxers from 73 clubs contested this tournament across two weeks. Among the national champions crowned are two boxers from Galway, Ruth Dossen from the Olympic club and John Ward from Monivea. These champions will now go forward to National Squad Training, in consideration of selection for the 2025 European U17 Championships, taking place at the Olympic and Paralympic Training Centre in Kienbaum, Germany, from December 8th to 18th. This is the inaugural confederation-level World Boxing Championships for this age group.

Louth.
