Round 5 of the SSE Airtricity Women’s Premier Division sees five fixtures on Saturday, with Galway United heading to Leeside to defend their perfect record alongside a Dublin Derby between Shamrock Rovers and Shelbourne at Tallaght Stadium.
Athlone Town and Wexford will round out the day in the midlands in a meeting of two in-form attacks as the title race gathers pace.
The League leaders Galway United, who have a 100% record in the SSE Airtricity Women’s Premier Division so far, travel to face a Cork City side who are still searching for their first point in the League.
Phil Trill’s side have made it four wins from four, with Ceola Bergin and Emma Doherty both on the scoresheet last week as March Player of the Month Aoibheann Costello continues to impress.
It will be an uphill battle for Cork City, who face Galway United without a permanent manager after the Club announced the departure of head coach Barry Ryan earlier this week.
The Reds arrive in Tallaght fresh off a Dublin Derby win against Bohemians and sit two points behind the league leaders, Galway United, alongside Athlone Town.
Shamrock Rovers are back in action after their Round 4 meeting with Waterford was postponed.
The Hoops have had a strong start to the season with two wins from their opening three games.
A win would place them firmly in the early-season title race.
Meanwhile, Bohemians face Treaty United in Dalymount Park which is a meeting of two sides who will be keen to chalk up wins after both suffered defeats in Round 4.
Bohs were undone by Maeve Wollmer’s stoppage-time winner at Tolka Park which was a result that will sting given how well they matched the home side while Treaty United came up short against Galway United.
While Bohs will fancy their chances at Dalymount Park, Treaty United will be eyeing up the top half of the table after a bright start to the season.
Defending Champions Athlone Town will meet a Wexford side fresh off a 4-1 win against Cork City.
Both sides are in good form at the moment and Athlone forward Dana Scheriff looks prolific as ever leading the goalscoring charts on six goals - her nearest neighbour being Ceola Bergin on three goals.
Wexford forwards Courtney Chochol and Leah McGrath impressed last week and will both be looking to add to their ledger this weekend having scored four between them last Sunday.
In Greenogue, Peamount United will be hoping to respond against Sligo Rovers following last week’s 2-0 defeat to Athlone Town.
Sligo Rovers also suffered a loss last weekend to DLR Waves and the Bit O’ Red are yet to pick up a win this season with a tough task ahead of them in Greenogue Park.
DLR Waves will be chasing back-to-back league wins when they face 10th place Waterford on Sunday in Belfield.
The Waves picked up their first win in style last Sunday where they will look to build on a breakthrough weekend that saw them pick up their first win of the campaign thanks to goals from Siun Murdiff and Amber Cosgrove.
Waterford haven’t played since Round 3 following a postponement in their game against Shamrock Rovers last weekend, and will have their eyes set on shaking off any rust and picking up three points in Belfield on Sunday.
