County Council Cathaoirleachs ball raises over €22,000 for charity

The recent Galway County Councils Cathaoirleachs ball raised over 22 thousand euros for 2 charities

The now former Cathaoirleach, Cllr David Collins, presented two checks of €11,182 to Dementia Ireland and the National Breast Cancer Research Institute.

Held at the Raheen Woods Hotel in May, the event brought together members of the local community for an evening of fundraising and entertainment.

The National Breast Cancer Research Institute funds research at the University of Galway focused on improving the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer

Epilepsy Ireland provides support and services to people living with epilepsy and their families.

Teresa and James Delaney, parents of the late Damian Delaney, also presented a cheque of €5,016 to Epilepsy Ireland for research.
