Residents in Ahascragh asked to conserve water amid looming shortage

Residents in Ahascragh are being asked to conserve water amid looming shortages.

Uisce Eireann says due to the prolonged dry spell, levels have dropped in the Ahascragh River, which supplies the treatment plant.

The plant caters for around 800 customers in the area.

Preparations are being put in place to supplement the water supply in Ahascragh, including tankering water from a nearby scheme.

Residents are asked to conserve water where possible, and are being warned they may experience low pressure and outages over the weekend.
