Fianna Fáil candidate Cllr Keane, has welcomed confirmation that the long-awaited Gaeltacht Planning Guidelines will be published this year due to the importance of housing delivery to the future sustainability of Irish-speaking communities
Minister Browne has confirmed that both the wider Rural Housing Guidelines and dedicated Gaeltacht Planning Guidelines will be published this year.
Cllr Keane added the issue goes beyond planning policy alone, with infrastructure deficits also creating major barriers to housing delivery in rural and Gaeltacht areas.
