Just five percent of the 193 newly sworn Gardaí are being allocated to the North Western Region.
Eleven have been assigned to this region - which includes Galway, Louth, Cavan, Monaghan, Donegal, Mayo, Roscommon, Longford, Sligo and Leitrim.
The majority of the new Gardaí - 141 - are going to the Dublin region, 27 to the Eastern region and 14 to the Southern region.
Of the 193 newly sworn Gardaí, 134 are male and 59 are female, and there are a further 423 recruits undergoing training at the Garda College.
