Call for Coca Cola bike scheme in city to be extended out to Oranmore

Galway Bay fm newsroom - A county councillor has called for the Coca-Cola Zero bike scheme - operating in the city - to be extended out to Oranmore.

Councillor Liam Carroll says bike stations could be located in the town centre of Oranmore as well as the train station.

Coca-Cola Zero Bikes is a bike rental self-service for people over the age of 14.

Users can rent a bike and return it to any Coca-Cola Zero station and the first half hour of each hire is free.

Councillor Carroll says this kind of service in Oranmore would encourage daily commuters to cycle to the train station resulting in less cars on the road.
