A Galway artist has received the Deis Recording and Publication award from the Arts Council.
Nollaig Casey is one of 15 successful applicants to receive up to €10,000 that will go towards a traditional music recording project.
Nollaig Casey is a renowned fiddle player, who moved to Galway in the mid-2000s to pursue her love of music.
She recorded critically acclaimed albums such as 'Lead the Knave' and 'Causeway' with her late husband - Guitarist Arty McGlynn.
She plays with group 'Cherish the Ladies' and with Sisters Máire and Mairéad, popularly known as 'The Casey Sisters'
