Government is being urged to back a long-awaited public swimming pool in Loughrea.
Raising the matter in the Dáil, Galway East TD Louis O' Hara said the community is doing trojan work bringing the project forward.
But he said Galway County Council is drastically underfunded and simply cannot afford to invest the millions needed.
Sinn Fein Deputy O' Hara said the Government has to step in.
