A number of healthcare experts who operate critical machinery during heart and lung surgeries, including some in Galway, will resume their industrial action next week.
25 perfusionists based at five hospitals including University Hospital Galway will escalate their action with a work stoppage on the 2nd and 3rd of July.
They previously picketed outside the hospitals for 24 hours, calling for action.
The Fórsa trade union says earlier actions were paused to allow the issue to be discussed as part of new national public sector pay talks.
However, a forum for that has not yet been established, and the union says it's resuming the stoppages, with more planned between the 6th and 8th of July.
