Meeting hears Kilbannon Group Water Scheme at 'critical point' with leaks and funding

The Kilbannon Group Water Scheme is at a 'critical point, with worries it won't be able to provide water without more money.

That's according to local councillors, with Cllr Siobhán McHugh Ryan saying the scheme is under serious pressure, with six leaks on it, as works continue on the R332.

She says it's running out of money, with recent funding of €450,000 still sitting with Galway County Council, as attempts are continuing to hand it over to Uisce Eireann.

Siobhan Mchugh Ryan told Sarah Slevin there's shear frustration within the group, and a round-the-table discussion is needed
