Charlie Byrne’s and Tuam's Turning Pages among 23 stores to receive community funding

Two independent bookstores in Galway are among just 23 nationwide to receive community prize funding.

Charlie Byrne's Bookstore in the city and Tuam's recently opened Turning Pages will get a grant of up to €5,000 each.

It's to support the development of new and engaging activities for the benefit of the local community.

It's just the second year of the funding initiative, and aims to help strengthen the importance of bookstores as creative community venues.
