The bus fleet serving Galway City is set to be significantly expanded over the next year.
That's according to Galway West TD John Connolly, who says the NTA expects 60 double-decker electric buses to be in use by early 2027.
That's an increase of almost 50 percent on the size of the current fleet.
Further growth is also planned when a new redesigned bus network is rolled out, either next year or in 2027.
Fianna Fail Deputy Connolly says it's all about creating a public transport system that people can rely on.
