City event for brain injury survivors to focus on returning to work or education

Galway Bay fm newsroom - A roadshow to help young people with brain injury return to work and education will take place in the city later this month.

Acquired Brain Injury Ireland is driving the national 'Step Ahead' initiative to ensure young people with such injuries get dedicated support.

The service allows brain injury survivors from Galway, Sligo, Donegal and Mayo to attend the centres in Dublin and Cork for a specialist vocational assessment.

The roadshow offering advice about the initiative will take place at Hotel Meyrick Eyre Square from 10am to noon on Tuesday September 17th.

Senior Occupational Therapist with Acquired Brain Injury Ireland, Emer Duffy says the Step Ahead service can help people return to work safely.
