Clifden RNLI rescues Kayakers in difficulty at Ballyconneely

Galway Bay fm newsroom - The Clifden RNLI has rescued two sea Kayakers at Ballyconneely after they got into difficulty last evening.

The two women were at sea when one kayak filled with water and capsized.

The alarm was raised by a member of the public watching from the shore and the RNLI Atlantic 85 lifeboat was dispatched to the scene.

Both women were rescued and brought safely to shore where they received care from members of Cleggan Coastguard Unit.

It's the third time Clifden RNLI has been launched in the past week - with other successful rescue operations taking place at Inishbofin and Ballyconneely.
