Clifden RNLI rescues man from potentially life threatening situation

Clifden RNLI has rescued a man from a potentially life threatening situation in Connemara.

A couple was out walking at Slackport near Ballyconneely yesterday evening when a man fell, trapping his leg in rocks.

He was trapped on the high water mark and the rising tide threatened to reach his location.

Two lifeboats of the Clifden RNLI were dispatched to the scene along with Rescue 118 Helicopter - and treated the man at the scene before airlifting him to safety. He escaped serious injury.
