Consultant association says mental health funding for UHG is being delayed

Galway Bay fm newsroom: The HSE has moved to stress that there is no provision in the 2020 operational plan for further development of the mental health services for expectant and new mothers in Community Healthcare West.

It says the issue will be reviewed, however, in preparation for the 2021operational plan.

The statement comes in response to concerns raised by the Irish Hospital Consultants Association regarding a delay in funding for specialist perinatal mental health services at University Hospital Galway.

In a statement to the Galway Bay FM newsroom, the IHCA maintains "the commitment to fund and implement its recommendations is being delayed."
