The contract has been signed for the construction of a €4.7 million housing development and community care facility in Athenry
The Galway County Council development at Cullairbaun will deliver 12 social homes and a purpose-built community care home.
The housing scheme comprises four one-bedroom homes and eight two-bedroom homes.
The care facility will include five bedrooms, communal living areas and support spaces.

Cathaoirleach Andrew Reddington, says this project is an important investment in Athenry and will support people to live independently in their own community.
The contract has been awarded to C&N Higgins Construction Ltd.
