Galway Bay fm newsroom - Emergency services are dealing with several crashes across the county this morning.
The latest incident happened at around 9am on the R345 between Maam and Cornamona, and the road is currently closed.
It's understood the collision involved a car and a jeep, but it's not yet known if anyone has been seriously injured.
Gardaí are advising motorists, especially those using local and secondary routes, to drive with extreme care, as driving conditions are treacherous in many areas.
