Fáilte Ireland has launched a five-year destination and experience development plan for Galway City.
It's aim is to sustainably grow the economic value of tourism in the City, and was developed by local stakeholders.
A central focus of the plan is the integration of the Irish language into the visitor experience.
Other plans include, an indoor year-round food market and to upgrade Galway City Museum by adding new cultural events.
