The official launch of Galway's Institute for Creativity takes place this afternoon at the University of Galway.
The launch at 4.30pm will be part of the International Forum on Artistic Research.
It's the 17th Conference of the Society for Artistic Research taking place from today until Friday with 300 delegates
The new Institute will forge next-generation collaborations between art and science, and research, policy, and industry
It will work across all disciplines from life science to business and law, from engineering to the natural sciences.
The Institute will also be home to the University's 'Arts in Action' programme, which welcomes students and staff, and visitors from outside the university to engage with a broad and varied programme of artistic events.
The launch event will take place at Bailey Allen Hall and it will be followed by a performance at 8pm in the O'Donoghue Theatre from leading Irish-language artists from all of the major Gaeltacht areas.
