Galway artists featured in Best Irish Books for children

Five Galway artists are featured in this year’s Children’s Books Ireland reading guide for babies to 18 year-olds

It covers Irish-based artists across fiction, non-fiction, graphic novels and verse

The Galway authors included in ‘The Best Irish Books of 2025’ guide are:

- Méabh McDonnell for Any Way you Slice It
- Catherine Doyle for The Rebel and the Rose
- Patricia Forde, Laureate na n-Óg for her books, Cití Cearc, Letters to a Monster and Marking it Up As You Go Along
- Mary Watson for Strange Nature
and
- Linda Fährlin for her book, The Illustrated Encyclopedia of the Irish Seashore. In addition Linda illustrated the cover of this guide which is inspired by the sea

The guide is available in participating bookshops and libraries, while it's free to download from childrensbooksireland.ie.
