Galway International Arts Festival accounts show 2018 revenue increase

Galway Bay fm newsroom - Record audiences at last year's Galway International Arts Festival resulted in a significant increase in revenues for the festival.

According to today's Irish Times, box office revenues rose by 43 per cent in 2018 to 1.93 million euro.

Accounts filed for the festival company show that acts such as singer Gavin James and band Kodaline, contributed to the rise in box office sales.

Despite the rise in box office revenue in 2018, an increase in costs of almost 700 thousand euro from the previous year, meant the festival's surplus halved to 45 thousand euro.
