Galway medical device company secures funding

Galway Bay fm newsroom - A Galway based medical device company is to share in funding of 100 thousand euro allocated from Enterprise Ireland.

Bluedrop Medical is one of five companies to receive €20 thousand through Enterprise Ireland's Small Business Innovation Research programme.

Founded in 2015, Bluedrop has developed a device that can enable diabetic foot ulcers to be detected early - when treatment is easier and outcomes and costs are greatly improved.

As part of the funding the company will form a partnership with the HSE, to continue their research and to allow patients to benefit from the technology.
