Galway records highest increase in residential rent prices in last three years

Galway Bay fm newsroom - Galway has recorded the highest increase in rent rates in the country over the last three years.

That's according to figures analysed by Focus Ireland which show the average rent price has increased by 43.9% between the years 2016 and 2019.

The report also states that Galway has the fastest growing homelessness rate.

In 2016 there were 125 homeless people living in Galway while in 2019 this number increased to 326.

Director of Advocacy for Focus Ireland Mike Allen says the problem in Galway is much worse than in other counties of similar size.
