GMIT Student Union calls for budget increases to SUSI grant to be introduced immediately

Galway Bay FM newsroom- The Student's Union at GMIT is calling for an increase to the SUSI grant announced in Budget 2022 to be introduced immediately.

The grant is set to increase by €200 next year - while the income threshold to quality will also increase by €1 thousand.

However, Welfare Officer Emily Walshe says given the rising costs of living, students cannot afford to wait.
