That's according to Galway West TD Éamon Ó Cuív, who says no proposals in relation to the Irish language - or broadcasting ás Gaeilge - are being included in the new broadcasting act.

Deputy Ó Cuív says the Oireachtas Committee on the Gaeltacht and the Irish Language issued 18 recommendations in relation to broadcasting and the Irish language.

However, he claims these have all been ignored by Communications Minister Richard Bruton.

Fianna Fail Deputy O' Cuív says the broadcasting bill must be amended before going any further.
