Islanders call for representation on new interdepartmental committee

Galway Bay fm newsroom - The Gaeltacht Minister is being urged to ensure islanders' voices are represented on a new inter-departmental committee dedicated to island development.

The committee will be chaired by Gaeltacht Minister and Galway West T.D Seán Kyne and will have representatives from relevant government departments.

Comhdháil Oileáin na hÉireann, the federation of off-shore islands is welcoming the reformation of the committee.

It says it will provide practical support to island communities which face challenges.
