A Galway West TD and Junior Minister says increasing the fine for parking on footpaths, cycle tracks and bus lanes will help better protect vulnerable road users.

From February 1st, the penalty's set to double to €80.

Minister of State at the Department of Transport, Hildegarde Naughton, says the fine will be strictly enforced.
