Just 8 registrations to city council for short term lets

Galway Bay fm newsroom - Galway City Council has received just 8 registrations from property owners who rent on Airbnb on home-sharing websites.

Since July 1st, property owners in rent pressure zones such as Galway must either register with the local authority or apply for planning permission for change of use to allow them let out property.

The registration process applies to homeowners who rent out a room or a home for less than 90 days.

According to today's Irish Times, the city council received 8 registrations and just one planning application.
