Lack of staff in mental health services in Galway putting children at risk

Galway Bay fm newsroom - The mental health of young people is being put at risk due to staff shortages in mental health services in Galway, Mayo and Roscommon.

That's according to Galway-Roscommon T.D Eugene Murphy, who says there are currently over 40 positions not filled in the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service in the region.

The Fianna Fáil party received information that almost half the positions committed to under the Vision for Change strategy for the 3 counties remain unfilled.

Deputy Murphy says waiting lists are spiralling out of control.
